Gorgeous restaurant that looks like the inside of a gothic cathedral. The food was not only delicious but had such a colorful, vibrant presentation. Service was excellent and the food came out as it was ready, tapas style.

Dining at Quixote in the Lafayette Hotel was such a memorable experience! From the moment we walked in, we were taken by the unique, Gothic church vibe--dim lighting, dramatic decor, and an almost mystical atmosphere that really set it apart from any other restaurant in San Diego. The service was top-notch, and we can't say enough good things about our waitress, Sarah. She was an absolute delight! Fun, funny, and so easy to talk to. She brought such a positive energy to our table and really went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Now, the food--wow! We ordered the chicken tacos, and they were absolutely delicious and so unique. They were fresh and flavorful without being your stereotypical Mexican fare. The guacamole was equally amazing, creamy and packed with flavor. One of our friends was still a bit hungry afterward and asked about getting some shrimp, which wasn't on the menu, but the staff made it happen! It was such a nice touch and showed how accommodating they were. Our margaritas were also spot-on, perfectly balanced and refreshing. And a small detail we loved--the hand soap in the restroom smelled incredible! It might sound funny, but it's those little touches that really make an impression. Overall, Quixote is a must-visit if you're in San Diego. The fantastic food, stellar service, and unforgettable ambiance make it a perfect spot for a unique and memorable night out.

Really cool restaurant because of the decor and ambiance here. They have incredible attention to detail, and the whole atmosphere is incredible. I am glad I was able to experience this place. The food is good too, and they had a pretty eclectic menu. In my opinion, some of the dishes were not with the cost. The service was alright. We were warned a head of time that the drink will take a while. It took like 20 minutes to get a round of shots for the table. Drinks are pricey, shots were $15 a piece and the cocktails were $16-20. They were pretty good though. The experience I believe makes this place worth it.

What can I say--this place is a vibe. The ambiance is moody and the decor is exquisite. My boyfriend and I went out of our planned date night to start our night off with cocktails here. Best decision. The cocktails we ordered were delicious. We both would recommend ordering the Vibras. Very well balanced...skip the margarita and elevate your selection with this one. You will not be sorry. Our server was amazing and attentive. The food being served around us all looked amazing and we cannot wait to comeback to get the full experience with food as well.

This place is definitely a hipster location where people are coming in not just for the vibe before the aesthetic. There's an area where you can eat upstairs which they call heaven and there's also an area downstairs which they call hell. The food was delicious, but it's more of a tapas type of location and not a full on dinner. I feel that this location benefits from being so close to all the other bars that it's almost like a one stop shop for college kids and locals. We had great service in the sense of we were continuously being checked on however, chips and guac were delicious and the drinks were heavy-handed but good overall I definitely think this is a place that you should go visit however, if you are in your 40s or above, expect to see a lot of younger college kids.

I've been itching to check out this restaurant for ages, and I finally found the time to get a group together after our schedules just didn't allow it before. I snagged a reservation at the Lafayette, and let me tell you, they take this seriously--there's a $25 charge per person if you flake! So, I rounded up the troops and made sure everyone was on board (no ghosting allowed). We went for lunch on a Monday, which was brilliant. The place was calm, and we didn't feel like we were fighting for table space with a dozen other brunch warriors. Now, let's talk food: we ordered the dark carnitas, octopus, squash blossom, crab corn donut, and for dessert, flan and rice pudding. Each dish was a flavor explosion, perfectly portioned--just enough to satisfy without leaving you in a food coma. I might have to start planning my next visit already, just to revisit that crab corn donut; it was that good. The cherry on top? Chef Raul made the rounds and stopped by our table! It felt like a celebrity sighting. I couldn't have been happier with my first experience here. I'm definitely coming back soon--my friends are already green with envy, and I can't wait to rub it in.

I came here a year ago with a group of girls and we all had such a great time! We ordered a few different menu items and enjoyed all of them. Both times before our dinner reservation, we got some drinks at Lobby Bar beforehand which were tasty. The vibes throughout the hotel are fantastic. The different rooms and dining areas have so much character to them. Quixote is too dark for my liking, but I understand that that's the feel that they are going for. Our waitress brought us out water and took our drink order. We wanted to get the guacamole to start and my friend asked what a certain add on was and the waitress said it was crickets. My friend said "oh, no thank you" and the waitress said nothing and walked away. My friend wanted to add the queso with the guacamole, but she didn't have a chance because the waitress just walked away without any words or facial expressions. The chicken taco wasn't what I expected because I felt like it was a chicken tender on a tortilla. The chicken was fried well, but I was not a fan of it being in a taco. I really liked the chili garlic shrimp tacos. The cheesy tortilla was a great addition and the chili garlic was very tasty as well. I overall had a great experience and the food is good and the vibe is wonderful. I would recommend coming here! Parking can be rough depending on the time of day since it's primarily street parking.

First things first, the instant I walked into this restaurant, I was stunned by how beautiful it was. The ambiance is super intimate with dark (kinda too dark) lighting, beautiful architecture, and amazing smells all around. My friend Danny is a server here and recommended a bunch of dishes! Our server was fantastic and she was super attentive and very knowledgable on the dishes. For food, we ordered the famous crab donut, the pulpo (octopus), and the grilled fish. The crab donut was as great as we expected. They were super generous with the crab and the cold crab, the salty caviar, and the warm donut created a beautiful symphony of flavors. The pulpo was also outstanding. The mole that holds the pulpo was savory with a kick of spice. I kid you not when I say we licked that plate clean. The octopus was grilled very well and the char was fantastic. I don't usually order grilled/cooked fish at restaurants but this one blew me away. When I had my first bite, the fish literally slipped off the bones. The skin was crispy, the meat soo soft. I loved that it came with tortillas so we were able to make our own tacos with it. This fish might very possibly be the best grilled fish I've ever had. On top of this restaurant, Quixote is in the Lafayette Hotel which holds so many different bars and restaurants! So if you do make it here, make sure to leave a few extra hours to explore the rest of the hotel :)
